They were big enough to cover me and my bag and I carried one for my wife as well. There was wind and these held up just fine. We did close them during extreme winds, but no umbrella stood a chance there.This works great if your other hand is full.

I'd have no reason to replace the old model if not for the handle. The mechanisms work, the canopy is flawless, and the skeleton is sound. Angle it into the wind and I'd say you'll have a great umbrella for about 8 years.
